Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas will appear before the House Homeland Security Committee Tuesday morning, as House GOP members prepare to deliver articles of impeachment against him to the Senate.
The presentation of articles had been delayed, with some Republican senators arguing that they needed more time to prepare for a trial. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) has made it clear he intends to dismiss the charges as quickly as he can. There may also be procedural delays, Senate Republicans likely do not have enough votes for a conviction.
Tuesday morning’s House hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. EDT.

It’s interesting to see how the political drama unfolds in the House and Senate. I hope both parties can come to a fair resolution for the benefit of the country.
I strongly believe that Secretary Mayorkas is facing unnecessary political attacks for doing his job diligently. It’s clear that the GOP is trying to play politics rather than focusing on the real issues at hand. As an American citizen, I hope the Senate will handle this matter swiftly and with integrity.
