Although the Olympic Games are underway in Paris the city remains “empty” as airlines rush to cut fares in an attempt to fill planes.
Air fares for last-minute flights from the UK to Paris are falling as anger grows in the Olympic host city about what tourism businesses are calling le flop, The Independent reports.
One hotelier described the city as “empty”, while earlier this month Parisian hoteliers sounded the alarm over the concerning number of hotel rooms still unbooked in Paris as occupancy rates were down as much as 25 percent down on what they were last year, according to some polls.
