LOS ANGELES (TCN) — One of the four suspects charged in connection with actor Johnny Wactor’s shooting death recently pleaded guilty.

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón announced that on Sept. 11, 18-year-old Leonel Gutierrez entered a guilty plea on charges of attempted robbery and grand theft. He is set to be sentenced on Nov. 1.

According to the district attorney’s office, the cases of the three other suspects, Robert Barceleau, Sergio Estrada, and Frank Olano, are pending. They are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 16.

In the early hours of May 25, 37-year-old Wactor was leaving his bartending job in the Moxy Hotel when he allegedly observed three men, including Gutierrez, trying to steal his catalytic converter. Authorities allege that Barceleau shot Wactor in the chest, and he later died at the hospital.

In a statement, Gascón said, “Our hearts go out to all who knew and loved him, and we recognize the profound pain his loss has caused. With one of the four defendants having pleaded guilty, we are committed to pursuing the remaining individuals with the same unwavering dedication. Our office will continue to work diligently to ensure that justice is fully served and that Mr. Wactor’s loved ones can find some measure of closure in this difficult time.”
