Please note that for the time being, we have paused the collection of bottle caps

1. What sort of bottle caps do you accept?

We currently use all flat soft drink, water and milk bottle tops, including those from long life containers. The tops should be numbered either No 2 or No 4 in the recycled triangle but not all are marked. Ideally all bottle caps should be sorted into 2, 4, milk and soft drink tops without markings . We can use the unknown bottle caps for our R&D projects. We cannot process tops which have other plastic or metal attached – this includes water bottle tops which have pull up tops. Any tops with other numbers like 5 or 7 are not required. We also ask that the caps are cleaned before they are donated and that no extra plastic, metal or other material is attached. Thank you so much for supporting Envision Hands.

2. What about other tops?

There are larger tops with No 2 or No 4 noted but we cannot process these at the moment as they are too large to shred with our machinery. Fortunately most recycling plants will process the larger tops as the issue with tops is there size and the automated sensing technology in the sorting phase. To be sure it is worth discussing with your local council about all of these other tops and how they are being recycled.

3. How can I register?

You do not need to register, Just start collecting! As a collector you will need to locate your nearest (collection point) and organise deliveries. It is as simple as that.

4. Where can I take my collection?

People throughout the country have volunteered to set themselves up as a β€˜collection point’. These amazing people have taken on the responsibility of accepting caps from their local area and getting them to our larger more centralised collection points. We are expanding these collection points all the time and can be viewed (here).

We are currently in talks with logistics and transport companies across Australia to bring the tops to Victoria.

5. What if I am not close to a current collection point?

Let us know at ( customer.service@envisionemployment.com.au ) and we will try to assist through our Rotary, Lions Club and ever growing base of volunteers.

6. Can I set up a collection point?

If you wish to be a collection point, please send an email to customer.service@envisionemployment.com.au with your name, phone number, and the location in which you wish to set up the collection point (please include the full address with postcode, suburb, state and the businesses name).

7. Where are the mobility aids distributed?

Our mobility aids are distributed to those in need in third world countries but we also support any present need for the need of a short term hand/arm locally.
