DNC comes out swinging with new online attack on the ‘MAGA Tax Scam’ this tax day

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) launched a digital ad buy that will target Republicans tax policies ahead of tax day on Tuesday, the committee first told The Hill.

The ad buy is in key battleground states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, and is targeted for Google searches for tax day. The ads link to a website, MAGATaxScam.com, where the DNC will argue that Republicans’ tax plan would “give tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations while scamming hardworking families.”

The goal of the DNC’s ad buy is that when voters in battleground states search “Tax Day,” they will be led to this website and be “reminded that the extreme GOP’s MAGAnomics agenda is nothing but a scam.”

“There’s no day like Tax Day to remind voters how Donald Trump and Republicans’ MAGAnomics agenda would gift tax breaks to their ultra-rich cronies and greedy corporations at middle class families’ expense,” DNC rapid response director Alex Floyd said in a statement.

Democrats have hit the GOP over the proposed budget from the Republican Study Committee, which was released last month.

The White House claimed it could potentially cut funding of programs addressing the opioid crisis and President Biden’s reelection campaign also bashed the budget proposal because it called for raising the retirement age for those not near retirement “to account for increases in life expectancy.”

Republican claim that the budget, which aims to cut spending by $17.1 trillion over 10 years, would reduce taxes on Americans by $4.2 trillion over ten years and combats Biden’s tax policies that they argue hurts the economy.
